4305 The Tony Whiteside Extreme Edition
“I have been flying the TWEE Kit for some time now. I must say that the KBDD paddles and tail blades fly very close to higher priced carbon ones.” - Henry Caldwell
On Twee Paddles, “Probably the end all be all of 3mm paddles. These are IMO the best 3mm paddles in existence at the moment. They are very stable, super fast, easy to see in the air and at sustained extreme cyclic they load the head less than any other paddle I've tried other than the ___ 3mm paddles, but those are too unstable for me. On Twee Green Dampers, “For a flybarless application, these will probably be the end all be all of dampers…” On Blue Dampers, “I prefer these over the lime green ones due to the softer feel around center, and the non progressive hardness on a flybar helicopter. IMO the stock ______ dampers are almost perfect, and the blues take the next step forward in performance.” - Eric Brandenburg
“Paddles are really good. I like the dampers” - Sebastian Zajonz
TWEE paddles:
Completely new design and material composition which is even more stable than our original paddles, yet quicker! These paddles compare very favorably to carbon fiber paddles costing a pair yet ours are much more durable. When the performance, price and durability is considered these are the best paddles in the world.
TWEE Dampers:
The dampers are a completely new design and material composition which gives a great soft feeling around center but is very hard during extreme 3D maneuvers. The blue are for most helicopters and the green are for the very aggressive pilots and flybarless systems. The blue are recommended for the Align Trex 600 helicopter due to the characteristics of the helicopter. Both dampers give the pilot a very “connected” feel.
TWEE Tail Blades:
The tail blades are our 92mm tail blade design but with a completely new material composition. The new composition makes the tail blade as stiff as many carbon fiber tail blades and more stiff than some. These tail blades are much more durable than carbon fiber with the performance of carbon fiber.
Tony Whiteside:
KBDD was the first to sponsor Tony. You may have read his interview in the last edition of Model Aviation. He flies very, very extreme 3D. Prior to this kit, Tony’s main function as our test pilot was to see how long it took him to tear it up. For example, Tony can destroy a normal set of dampers in four flights. Our old dampers would last longer. The TWEE dampers have over 50 flights on them. Tony was instrumental in developing this kit. He developed it for the most extreme pilot but we found the kit made a helicopter so stable it would be really good for all types of pilots. The helicopter does exactly what the pilot tells it to do.
The products which make up the upgrade kit were heavily tested by our pilots and other professional pilots from all over the world. This kit was eight months in development. Thanks go to Devin Raines, another KBDD Team Pilot, Kevin and others for their assistance in the development of this kit.
If you could take the best non-KBDD dampers, paddles and 92-95mm tail blades the sum of those parts would be more than 0 retail. This kit has a MSRP of .95. That is more than less than a pilot would pay for a comparable set of paddles alone.
This kit was already shown in the July edition of Model Retailers Magazine which is out now. It will also be shown in the August issues of Model Aviation and Model Airplane magazines. Those magazines will be out in mid-July. The kit will also be reviewed by Bob “Finless” White on HeliFreak.com and will be shown on modelairplane.com. The Tony Whiteside Extreme Edition Kit will be showcased at IRCHA.
You just cannot beat the performance, durability and price of this kit.
